The Client Finance Manager works within the Finance & Accounting team and reports to the VP, Client Finance. This individual must be an energetic self-starter with the ability to interface with many members of the organization, thrives in a fast-paced environment and develops their direct reports. This role will be responsible for client finance.
This role reports to the VP, Client Finance and can be remote or a part of our Chicago or Detroit office.
*While our offices are currently open, daily in-office attendance is not required.

Key Responsibilities
Client Finance
  • Manage and maintain revenue forecast process and tracking files
  • Provide financial oversight and control on projects: reviewing initial setup, monitoring progress against budget, and ensuring timely and accurate closure of projects
  • Partner with the Client Services and Project Management teams to monitor client and project profitability
  • Assist Client Services on finance-related matters and reporting.
  • Actively review and approve project transactions in a transitioning process environment
  • Perform month-end client P&L analyses and issue reports to Client leads
  • Oversee and ensure projects are set up correctly with revenue projects, billing rules, and signed agreements.

Month End Close
  • Responsible for month end revenue recognition process while following criteria under ASC 606
  • Review month end results to identify discrepancies with actuals and update rolling forecasts
  • Monitor missing time and work with business to get submitted and approved in a timely manner

Billing & Collections
  • Oversee client billing process in accordance with SOWs
  • Manage collections and weekly AR reports for stake holders and management
  • Lead monthly billing meetings to review projects in detail, including upcoming billing, PO issues, keeping on top of closing projects and any overages that are occurring on hours or costs

Team Development and Adhoc
  • Work with FP&A to develop client related reporting needs or system enhancements
  • Participate in M&A integration

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting required, Master's degree and CPA preferred
  • Agency experience required
  • 7+ years of finance experience in a Marketing Agency or Professional Services Environment.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (Modeling, Pivot tables, Vlookups) required
  • Ability to explore systems, interface with support, and acquire new skills
  • Experience serving as a business partner and financial steward
  • NetSuite and OpenAir knowledge/exposure a plus
  • Innovative and experience in process improvement
  • Professional, organized, time management, mature and can safeguard confidential information
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment
  • Billing and AR management experience
