Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Role:

Reporting to the Vice President of IT Operations & Infrastructure, the Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible managing and supporting ElevateBio’s cloud infrastructure, including supporting the science and business consumers of our cloud environments, and working with stakeholders to continuously improve our cloud environment.

The successful candidate will be a curious, self-starting and innovative professional with strong communication skills and a desire to collaborate across the organization (not just IT) to design and improve solutions that support our business as we continue to scale and grow.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with business units to support the cloud environment and services align with business goals and results, supporting the science and business workflows.
• Monitor cloud performance and operational costs, proactively managing usage to optimize costs while maintaining performance.
• Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to operations.
• Partnering with the Information Security Office, develop and implement cloud security standards and guardrails, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks such as the Center for Internet Security’s Critical Security Controls.
• Working with expert partners, assess, rearchitect and redesign, and reimplement (if appropriate), improvements to ElevateBio’s cloud environment ensuring scalability and security of the entire environment
• Manage cloud enhancement requests, working with stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and implement improvements.
• Create and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and operational procedures to ensure effective knowledge transfer and continuity.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of progressive experience in information technology.
• Experience working in at least one of the large cloud provider environments (Amazon, Google, Microsoft).
• Prefer experience in working with or designing landing zone environments and/or working with infrastructure as code solutions such as terraform.
• Strong communications and collaboration skills.
• Ability to ask better questions, listen to the answers, and solve the right problems.
• Capability to synthesize and summarize information (e.g. use-cases or requirements) to provide good recommendations.
