Your Role and Responsibilities
The IBM Cloud Object Storage team is growing and looking to add Cloud Developers to its team of skilled architects and developers. You will be responsible for designing and developing new capabilities to the Cloud Object Storage service on IBM Cloud.
In their adoption of cloud large enterprises need to transform their legacy tools and processes into cloud-age concepts. IBM is committed to helping its valued customers in making that transformation.
You will be responsible for creating innovative solutions and features for the Cloud Object Storage service on IBM Cloud. This involves understanding customer requirements identifying opportunities for improvement and translating them into technical designs.
You should have expertise in cloud programming including proficiency in programming languages commonly used in cloud environments such as Java Python or Node.js. You will leverage cloud-native technologies and frameworks to build scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
Strong understanding and experience with agile development methodologies are required. You will work in an iterative and collaborative environment participating in agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups sprint planning and retrospectives. Your ability to adapt to changing requirements and deliver high-quality software within time constraints is critical.
Overall your role as a Cloud Developer on the IBM Cloud Object Storage team will involve designing developing and delivering cutting-edge cloud storage solutions collaborating with cross-functional teams and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in cloud computing.

• Design and implement highly-available cloud based solutions
• Implement test-driven development practice.
• Document and support our incrementally evolutive solution
• Developing automation that improves deployment speed and service reliability

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 5+ years of experience as Cloud Developer role in Cloud Application Development
• 5+ years Demonstrated software development skills in one or more of the following programming languages : Python GolangJavaNode.js
• Working knowledge of one or more key DevOps foundation tools: Ansible Tekton Travis and Jenkins.
• Hands-on experience with Container technologies: Kubernetes (IKS GCE) RedHat OpenShift Docker.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Cloud (preferred) AWS GCP & Azure particularly in multi-cloud environments
• High-level understanding of Cloud infrastructure & industry transformation
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Ansible Terraform Python GoLang
• Linux OS Concepts
• Basic Understanding of Compliance and Security tasks
• Experience with geographically distributed teams
