Your Opportunity
Stantec in Coral Gables, FL is looking for a Water Resources - Civil Engineer to join their team! Enjoy the camaraderie, career growth and success that comes with being part of this high performing team.
Your Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will use their management and technical abilities to complete the mechanical detailed design of water resource projects and manage a team of design professionals and technicians to deliver projects involving the design.
- Manage a team of design professionals and technicians
- Project Management of water resources projects and design development
- Assist PM in interactions with clients and management regarding status of project scope, schedule, and budget
- Apply and share experience/knowledge of stormwater systems design, drainage modeling, blue/green design, and resiliency design
- Apply and share experience/knowledge of treatment, wastewater collection, and water system conveyance facility design
- Lead and manage preparation of construction documents including design drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates
- Permitting and construction engineering assistance for water resources projects
- Research and understand issues related to wastewater, stormwater, and water resources that impact individual projects
- Ensure that projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner
- Provide oversight, coordination, and problem solving in managing design teams providing Engineering Services During Construction for multiple projects under construction.
- Document controls, RFI responses, and change order management tasks
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Self-Motivated with good work ethic are required
- Ability to supervise, manage, and mentor junior staff (and others), in person and remotely.
- Efficient project execution of multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to develop high quality design plans, check the design work of others for accuracy and quality, and coordinate with autocad designers
- Ability to work remotely from home including, working with remote teams, ensuring quality of work is kept, deadlines are met, and project delivered under budget.
- Understands client expectations, project budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing.
- Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and understanding of various design methods.
- Hydraulic and hydrologic analyses and modeling experience required using ICPR, PC-SWMM, and HEC-RAS
- Watershed and Drainage Basin Evaluation and design experience
- Construction Inspection and Administration for public infrastructure projects
- Experience developing technical reports and studies
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Adobe Bluebeam, Microstation, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Effective communicator and able to work on and lead teams.
- Candidate must have technical writing abilities
- Preferred experience with relevant 2D, 3D platform (Autodesk and Bentley) design software, which may include AutoCAD Civil3D, InfoWORKS, PondKing, StormCAD, WaterCAD, Biowin, GPS-X, Visual MINTEQ and HADES, in accordance with expertise.
- Self-confidence and strong people skills are needed
- Must have a valid drivers license and safe driving record
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil/Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Master of Science in Civil/Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain within one year
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
