We are looking for a Data Integration Engineer to support our client based in Miami Beach, FL

This is a Hybrid position. Candidates must be located in or near Miami Beach, FL.

The project

TECKpert seeks to hire a Data Integration Engineer to support our client, a government agency based in Miami Beach, FL and to work with the Data Integration and Analytics team supporting the Business Intelligence environment and the city’s Data Integration Strategy. The ideal candidate has practical experience with data integration projects, data warehouse implementations, and master data management practices. The candidate must be an expert in ETL and/or reporting processes.

Job duties includes but are not limited to -

  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards.
  • Work with business units to gather requirements, development and delivery of business intelligence & reporting services.
  • Working with a variety of data formats, primarily - flat files (CSV, XLS), and XML/ SOAP / JSON / JMS.
  • Creating SQL Queries to extract the requested data from a variety of source databases.
  • Performance tuning Stored Procedures for maximum efficacy.
  • Creating a reusable / repeatable process in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Deploying and executing SSIS Packages
  • Running SSIS Packages in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) to debug and test packages to ensure they are in the correct format requested
  • Develops and implements business intelligence & analytics to support organizational initiatives.
  • Design, model, develop & optimize BI solutions to meet data management and data reporting objectives.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the processes used and the content produced by the BI platform.
  • Work with business stakeholders to define and improve standardized and ad-hoc analytics/reporting capabilities.
  • Work as part of the BI team to maintain and develop all components of the BI platform.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support through troubleshooting, report modifications and optimization.
  • Provide input into the technical architecture and the data warehouse technology stack.
  • Create functional and technical design documents and maintain documentation for all reports and dashboards created or modified
  • Creates and maintains positive, cohesive work environment.

 

Compensation and Term 

This opportunity is for a full-time, 1-year contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $58/hour or $120,640 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire. 

Qualifications you need

A successful Data Integration Engineer candidate possesses or provides the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS),or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a closely related field.
  • 4+ years production SQL Server and Business Intelligence development and support 3+ years Production experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (SSRS),(SSIS),(SSAS),(Power BI), API,
    C#, VB.NET
  • Experience with data integration methodologies and tools
  • Experience with the design of relational and multidimensional database
  • Strong proficiency in SQL performance tuning
  • Understanding of SDLC lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Source Control practices
  • Azure Data Platform (Azure Data Factory, Data Lakes, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure ML, Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, Power BI)
  • May supervise other technical, paraprofessional, or clerical staff, as directed
