Data Operations Engineer (Remote eligible for the right fit within the U.S. Must be willing to attend 7am EST daily standup and EST hours)

The Role

As a Data Operations Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting nightly ETLELT processes that are a mixture of SSIS on prem and Azure ADF technology stacks. You will be responsible for tracking and resolving the issues with support of the data operations & data development teams. This position will also work closely with the rest of the data operations team on project tasks as well as landing external data to be ingested into our EDW.

Here are some of the ways in which you’ll achieve impact

• Ensuring the data platforms and processes are running well, both in data collection, integration, and processing. Responsible for on-prem and Azure infrastructures.
• Monitor and manage data processes and data integrations.
• Perform corrective and evolutive maintenance of all the data exchange and data solution processes.
• Ensure the quality of data services & processes.
• Ensuring data quality by monitoring data latency for all internal & external sources systems.
• Resolving data latency issues that may arise from connectivity or timing.
• Landing external data via replication, SFTP and other transit mechanisms to be ingested into the EDW.
• Tier 2 support for incoming issues related to data service and or processes.
• Work closely with the BI Analyst team to help resolve identified data issues.
• Troubleshooting nightly ETL processing in both SSIS & ADFData Bricks.
• Iron out technical issues and/or help in technical improvement, cascade to development teams.
• Document data operations and monitoring solutions in clear, concise guides.
• Other projects as assigned in order to support necessary business goals across teams.

You may be fit for this role if you have

• Minimum of 3 years experience in Azure cloud services.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Data Integrations Engineer.
• Minimum of 3 years experience building ETLELT solutions in SSIS, ADF.
• Knowledge of relational databases and data architecture computer systems, including SQL.
• Familiarity with Azure monitor & Log analytics.
• Experience in data analysis, relational and dimensional data modelling, data integration, data warehousing, OLTP, OLAP and database/schema design.
• Experience in handling data from a variety of sources like csv, json, xml, relational databases, and Azure storage accounts.
• Experience in developing technical and support documentation, translate business requirements and needs into reporting and models.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of emerging technologies, and their associated impact on enterprise environments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks across multiple projects with tight deadlines and aggressive goals.
• Ability to understand complex issues and clearly articulate complex ideas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation: $90,000-150,000 base salary range dependent on technical leveling, title, work experience and work location. 

Academics: Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent experience along with a demonstrated desire for continuing education and improvement.
