Summary
About the Position:
The incumbent serves as a Dentist (Prosthodontics) in Directorate of Dental Clinical Dentistry in Camp Humphreys, South Korea. This is an open continuous announcement. The initial cut-off date is 30 July 2024 for referral consideration; 2d cut-off date is 13 Aug 2024; 3d cut-off date is 27 Aug 2024. Thereafter, every two weeks will be cutoff date until this position is filled.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to be on call during irregular work hours which include evenings, weekends, holidays.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.

- This position has a mandatory seasonal annual influenza vaccination requirement. A candidate selected for appointment to this position need to sign a statement consenting to annual seasonal influenza vaccination.
- All Employees assigned to military treatment facilities are required to be screened for applicable immunizations regardless of series, based on occupational risk, and are subject to missing/required immunizations lAW AR 40-562, chapters 3 and 4.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time
- The duty of this position requires drug testing. meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
- This position requires Basic Life Support training certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion.
- This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Dentist (Prosthodontics):
Education: Applicants must possess a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Residency: Applicants must have successfully completed an advanced specialty postgraduate residency program approved by the American Dental Association (ADA), or accepted equivalent program, in Prosthodontics.
Experience and/or Education Required:
A. Applicants must have completed a 3-year residency program in dentistry (prosthodontics), oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science.
OR
B. Applicants must have three years of professional dentistry experience and/or training, equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-12).
OR
C. Applicants must have completed a residency program in dentistry (prosthodontics), oral health, craniofacial sciences, or a related medical science AND professional dentistry experience and/or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GP-12). When combining residency program and professional dentistry experience and/or training to qualify, the total must be equal to or greater than three years.
Note for Qualifying Experience: Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include e the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position. For specialty dentistry positions, experience, education, board certification, and/or training must clearly establish the applicant's status as a specialist in Prosthodontics.

Additional information
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
- Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
- Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
- For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits.
