Job Purpose:
The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing Helpdesk/Desktop Support services in a large corporate business environment blending on-site and remote associates. The position requires an onsite technician to image/prep equipment for shipment, process/log receivables, and troubleshooting of problems with corporate issued computer equipment and peripherals. Requires advanced research and troubleshooting of complicated technical problems.
THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
- Supports and maintains the enterprise end user computing platforms ensuring high performance and reliability
- Perform MACs (moves, adds, and changes)
- Process receivables and shipments of computer hardware
- Image/re-image computers to distribute to associates
- Advanced research and troubleshooting of workstation related problems to determine root cause and implement permanent solutions
- Deploy and patch desktop systems using Microsoft Intune and KACE
- Interface with customers via phone, e-mail, chat, and in-person on system issues
- Assist with connectivity of office equipment and supporting software
- Interface with vendors for support and ordering as necessary
- Occasional evening and weekend work in response to needs of the business and systems supported
- Document solutions to command issues and share with others
- Provide support and backup to Desktop Lead

- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well organized, and exercise independent judgment.
- Strong hardware/software troubleshooting, and network diagnostic skills are essential
- Must have the ability to communicate how technology works and why systems/software are beneficial to all levels of the organization
- Must have intermediate networking (WiFi, LAN/WAN) and advanced problem-solving skills
- Must be experienced with remote support tools such as Microsoft Teams and Bomgar
- Familiar with Azure Active Directory and how to view user data and logs
- Ability to remain calm in a high-pressure atmosphere
- Ability to plan and deliver projects using leading-edge technology
- Must have a great customer support attitude, great interpersonal skills, be a quick learner and embrace change
- Ability to manage multiple challenging projects with various priority levels and timelines
- Works well within a cross departmental team environment.
- Must be dependable and punctual
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- 2+ years of experience to include:
- Desktop services, installation, configuration/provisioning and troubleshooting of hardware and software
- MS Windows 10 and common enterprise class applications such as Outlook 365 and Teams
- VPN, basic networking support, iPhone/Android setup for email, and desktop troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows 10 and O365
- Active Directory
- Remote desktop support tools such as Bomgar
- Endpoint systems management tools such as KACE and Microsoft Intune
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ticket tracking software such as ServiceNow or Ivanti
- Industry standard certifications a plus: CompTIA, MCSE, MTA, Microsoft 365, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment
- Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel
- May be required to lift up to 25 pounds
- Onsite at the corporate office
