Diagnostic Strategist-Electrification

Description

• Perform On Board Diagnostics (OBD), define algorithms and calibrate diagnostics monitors for Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Autonomous Vehicle (AV)(passenger car, truck, and sport utility vehicle) Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS or battery pack) including contactors, voltage sensors, current sensors, embedded Vehicle Integration Control Module (VICM), RESS thermal management systems, power electronics cooling pump, and RESS coolant pump, using MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, ETAS Measure Data Analyzer (MDA), Vehicle Spy, Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, and DPS tools.
• Maintain overall RESS diagnostic development plan on dSPACE Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test bench and in vehicle.
• Assure diagnostics monitors comply with GM Bill of Design (BOD) and comply with SAE J1979 Electrical and Electronics (E/E) Diagnostic Test Modes and State of California Air Resources Board (CARB) OBDII Title 13 1968.2 standards.
• Required travel on four corners electric vehicle trips from San Diego CA to Las Vegas NV to validate Onboard Diagnostics (OBD) In Use Monitoring and Performance Ratio (IUMPR) and diagnostics robustness to false failures and false passes, ~4 weeks per year (equal to ~8% annual travel).

Additional Description

• Master's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and two (2) years of experience as an Engineer, Strategist, or related role.
• Must also have experience with: Performing On Board Diagnostics (OBD), defining algorithms and calibrating diagnostics monitors for passenger vehicle engine or high voltage battery, using MATLAB, Simulink, ETAS INCA, and Vector CANalyzer tools.
