Digital Product Security and Solutions Technology Leader

Summary of Position:

Alcon is looking to hire a Digital Product Security and Solutions Technology Leader to join our Medical Digital Solutions Group. This person will be the architect responsible for building and driving implementation of the end-to-end technical product security strategy for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and Software in a Medical Device (SiMD) as well as digital medical solutions. The role requires strong leadership skills and collaboration with cross-functional team for implementation of end-to-end Alcon product digital solutions.

A key aspect of this role is to have a continuous pulse on the cybersecurity technologies determining the optimal business and technical solution that has value to patients, customers, and Alcon.

The Digital Security Technology Leader has detailed knowledge and practice in digital technologies, cloud platform, medical device development, and global regulations but grounded in the business aspects of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage team to support technology choices and common assets for implementation.
• Provides technical security direction across products, key projects, processes and/or portfolio of the security program.
• Identifies and leads the global awareness of threats, known vulnerabilities and security recommendation for Alcon products.
• Influence cross-functional team to implement and where possible support implementation.
• Build common technical and business awareness for security implementation.
• Provide assessments of changing cybersecurity threat landscape and identifies any key requirements or changes to internal policies and processes.
• Creates and supports product security innovations where a technical solution is currently not available.
• Develops strategy and white papers for security technologies for products.
• Hands-on implementation of product security deliverables, technologies, and practices into the portfolio of global Alcon products.
• Provide cross-functional team technical security expertise to drive applicable software and hardware implementation into Alcon products.
• Develop and maintains excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• Provides leadership in impact of technology to product security governance, processes, business metrics and service level agreements.
• Provides direction for standardizing technologies, tools, and help automate where possible driving improvements to implementation across Alcon products

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
• The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
• 7 Years of Relevant Experience
• 5 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
• Work hours: Standard (40 hours a week)
• Travel Requirements: 10-15%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Industry and government experience
• Industry experience in a regulatory environment
• Thinks about creative ways to implement technical solutions
• Preferred to have a Medical Device, MedTech, or health care experience
• Working knowledge in cybersecurity processes, frameworks, regulations (FDA/MDR/HIPAA) and product/software development process, agile processes, etc.
• Experience in the delivery and execution of product security standards, best practices, and tools
• Knowledge and experience in leading complex products, services, and solutions especially security and related technologies
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with Global teams
• At least 1-2 security and/or privacy certifications
• Strong technical understanding in developing security architecture and hardware security
• Hands on development experience
