What you'll do:
Grasshopper Bank, a leader in direct digital banking and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), is excited to expand into affinity banking. This new business line will combine our experience of running a digital bank, leveraging partnerships to power white-labeled technology platforms, and executing marketing plans to offer banking solutions for brands that enable them to achieve their embedded finance goals. With our impending acquisition of Auto Club Trust in the first half of 2025, the Director, Affinity Banking will initially focus their time helping to set the strategic vision and execute plans that successfully grow this relationship, which is geared towards American Automobile Association (AAA) members in a 14-state U.S. footprint. Over time, this business line has the capability to expand into managing other affinity programs, and the person in this role will help and execute the strategy to drive new business development and growth opportunities. Reporting to the Bank’s Chief Digital Officer, the Affinity Program Manager will:

  • Work with the management team to set strategic plans that achieves defined growth and revenue targets, as well as service level agreements (SLAs), for each affinity program
  • Have P&L responsibility for the Affinity Program line of business
  • Work closely with each affinity program to understand their membership base and their financial services’ needs, and craft a unique value proposition and banking experience for the program
  • Lead a cross-functional team that consists of bank team members and members from the affinity program(s) to execute successful sales and marketing programs
  • Partner with the Bank’s product and finance teams to ensure that the financial products & services offered are competitive and compelling for each program
  • Leverage data and analytics to drive customer acquisition through innovative digital marketing strategies
  • Continuous enhancements and A/B testing of affinity program’s digital properties, both properties owned by the Bank and those managed by the partner
  • Maintain close alignment with the Bank’s technology partnerships team to provide a leading-edge digital experience to each program
  • Partner with Client Services teams to gather and act on VOC feedback
  • Manage marketing budget for each program to achieve growth objectives and ROI
  • Establish, track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) at an established frequency
  • Identify, source and implement new affinity program opportunities over time


What you need:
  • Prior experience managing affinity programs for brands
  • Proven track record in driving revenue growth, meeting targets, and successfully leading digital initiatives
  • Experience in banking, both consumer and commercial, preferred
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills to drive digital initiatives and manage affinity relationships
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Experience executing both digital marketing and traditional marketing programs
  • Data-driven mindset
  • Ability to drive innovation while maintaining operational and risk & compliance excellence
