The Impact You'll Make

You will work within a top-tier multidisciplinary Development team tasked with efficiently navigating Recursion's clinical candidates to approval as safe and efficacious therapeutics for patients with unmet needs. 

• Define and execute bioanalytical strategies for compounds and biomarkers that support Recursion's clinical pipeline.
• Utilize your deep understanding of quantitative and qualitative bioanalytical approaches for both small molecule and larger molecular weight compounds and biomarkers. 
• Synthesize and Interpret in-house and external data spanning the entire spectrum of drug discovery and development. 
• Manage vendors that develop, validate and execute bioanalytical and biomarker assays for nonclinical studies and clinical trials.

The Team You'll Join

As Director of Bioanalytical and Biomarker Development you will be reporting to the Vice President of Early Development and will be an essential member of the Recursion Clinical Development team within the Human Pharmacology & Translational Medicine functions. The HP&TM group encompasses broad scientific expertise covering pre-clinical toxicology, Early Clinical development, Clinical or Human Pharmacology, and Exposure/Modeling & Simulation efforts. The goal of the group is to advance new or repositioned targets for clinical development in an efficient manner that optimize their evaluation as potential new therapeutic agents.

The Experience You'll Need

• PhD with 6+ years, MS with 10+ years, or Bachelor's with 15+ years of academic or Industry experience
• Degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related discipline with an emphasis on quantitative mass spectrometry. Hands-on experience with chromatographic separation techniques and different sample preparation procedures such as protein precipitation, liquid-liquid extraction, and/or solid-phase extraction
• Previous experience managing CRO partners
• Strong working knowledge of regulations, guidelines, standards that guide collection and utilization of non-clinical and clinical data
• Experience in Bioanalytical practices, GLP and GCLP guidelines/practices, working with cross-functional teams, and project representation experience
• Familiar with regulatory expectations (FDA and EMA) and industry's best practices in bioanalytical and biomarker/diagnostic assay method development and validation
• Ability to diagnose and solve complex technical and scientific problems
• An understanding of principles of relationship management across diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Preferred candidates will have experience in building out in-house GLP laboratories
• Preferred candidates may also have experience with the following:
• Discovery, validation and clinical implementation of biomarkers
• Knowledge and experience of biomarker technologies and their clinical implementation
