Meet the team:

As the Director of Global Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) at Dexcom, you will be at the forefront of driving and leading the company's efforts in creating a safe and sustainable work environment across its global operations. Dexcom is a pioneering leader in continuous glucose monitoring systems, dedicated to empowering people to take control of their health. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive EHSS strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with regulations and safeguard the health and well-being of employees, customers, and the community.

This role reports directly the Head of Global EHSS and will be based out of San Diego California.

Where you come in:

  • You will develop and oversee the implementation of the company's global EHSS strategy, policies, and objectives in alignment with Dexcom's overall mission and vision.
  • You will collaborate with regional EHSS teams and cross-functional leaders to further the EHSS Performance Framework --- driving consistent EHSS standards and best practices throughout all Dexcom facilities worldwide.
  • You will drive a proactive safety culture, promoting EHSS awareness and accountability at all levels of the organization.
  • You will lead the development and execution of comprehensive EHSS training programs to educate employees on safety protocols, regulations, and risk management practices.
  • You will conduct regular assessments and audits to identify EHSS hazards and compliance gaps, and establish effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • You will ensure adherence to all relevant local, regional, and international EHSS regulations and standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging requirements.
  • You will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure EHSS performance across Dexcom's global operations, and communicate progress to executive leadership.
  • You will collaborate with regional EHSS teams and cross-functional leaders to ensure EHSS considerations are integrated into the product design and manufacturing processes.
  • You will stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in EHSS practices and technologies, and proactively implement innovative solutions to enhance safety and sustainability.
  • You will act as a liaison with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and community partners, to foster positive relationships and promote Dexcom's commitment to EHSS excellence.

What makes you successful:

  • You must have proven track record of developing and implementing successful EHSS strategies and programs across diverse geographical locations with a thorough knowledge of EHSS regulations and standards, such as OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant local regulations.
  • You will need strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others towards a safety-first culture.
  • You must have demonstrated experience in managing EHSS audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments, an ability to analyze complex data and trends to drive data-driven EHSS decisions and continuous improvement initiatives and excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate and resolve complex EHSS challenges.
  • You must have a proactive approach to addressing EHSS issues, with a commitment to delivering results and ensuring the well-being of Dexcom's workforce and stakeholders.
  • Nice to have items include:
  • An OSHA 30-hour Certification, CSP, CIH, CHMM, CRM, ARMP
  • ISO 45001, and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certified
  • Demonstrated project and program management experience
  • Experience working in an ISO 13485 or 21 CFR 820 GMP environment

Travel Required:

  • 15-25%

Exempt Salary Details:

The annual base salary range for this role is $149,000.00 to $248,300. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.

Experience and Education

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 15+ years of industry experience.
  • 9+ years of successful management experience in relevant industry.
