About the Role

The Director of Franchise Development is responsible for developing, implementing, and tracking the success of a strategic plan to increase the number of European Wax Center (EWC) franchise agreements and accelerate gains in new center openings. The initial focus of this role will be grow existing franchisees and identify new franchisees in new and existing territories. The role is an individual contributor.

A Day in the Life

  • Independently create a strategic plan to achieve growth objectives. The Market Planning team will collaborate on the identification of markets to develop; the Franchise Business Consultants will collaborate on the identification of primary targets. The Director will create the strategic plan to increase sales and define successful outcomes.
  • Work with Senior Vice President of Business Development to assess and revise strategy as necessary and set and achieve sales quotas.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships and communication with all EWC corporate cohorts.
  • Responsible for completion of all aspects of the sales process including prospecting, sales presentations, qualifying potential franchisees, closing sales, and on-boarding franchisees new to the network.
  • Utilize Fran Connect to track and report statistics monthly including lead sources, funnel, license sales, and licenses converted into new center openings.
  • Follow all terms outlined in EWC's FDD and any applicable state and federal regulations governing contract agreements for franchisees and all related materials.
  • Consult with Legal as needed.
  • Support new franchisees during the first six to twelve weeks of development to assist the Operations Team and ensure timely execution on site selection, permitting, and training.
  • Develop and implement an expansion program for existing franchises, encourage successful franchisees to expand into additional markets.
  • Attend relevant franchise trade shows and conventions, as well as targeted industry trade shows as budgeted.
  • Attend company functions, meetings, and trainings as required.
  • Successfully interact with vendors on an as-needed basis.
  • With minimal administrative support, produce correspondence, maintain information packets and other electronic communications to build relationships, maintain a license funnel, drive the sales process, and close sales.
  • Represent and assist corporate staff on special project assignments.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of a given work week.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or minimum of 5 years consultative sales and service experience.
  • Basic understanding of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial statements and legal documents.
  • Experience in a cold-calling environment.
  • Experience working in a franchise system.
  • Position is remote; must be comfortable with facilitating deals virtually.
  • Proven sales success in diverse sales environments.
  • Stellar presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving, territory management and interpersonal skills.
  • Verifiable success in meeting and exceeding goals and performance targets.
  • Working knowledge of real estate life cycle management including development schedules, construction processes, and corresponding capital requirements.
