About the Director of FP&A

You will scale the finance function alongside the CFO. Trove is a mission-driven company with a high-quality employee experience and a great culture.  As the Director of FP&A, you will help lead the organization to keep up with the transactional finance needs of a fast-moving and fast-growing company with the strategic capabilities to co-create enduring and best-in-class Finance processes.  

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate, prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual rolling forecasts and prepare reporting on actuals vs. budgeted results, including additional ad-hoc analysis on results.
  • Financial reporting: liaise with the Accounting team to review monthly financial results for accuracy, balance sheet health, and trends, and report on results to the company and its investors. Analyze and explain budget variances.
  • Planning: Develop, manage and refine the Company’s  annual planning/ budgeting, long-range planning, reforecasting and monthly results reporting processes.  Build clear, accurate and reliable predictive forecast modeling for multiple functional areas.
  • Collaboration: Interact proactively and collaboratively with entire organization and executive leadership teams on a regular basis
  • Analysis: Build strong financial models for the business, utilizing understanding of financial reporting and business targets.
  • Analysis: Build and/or Review analysis results, develop insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and lead strategic business decisions.  Identify key data sources and utilize data-driven insights about important departmental metrics to improve business decisions.
  • Leadership: Develop a high-performing team and implement technology to drive the FP&A capabilities necessary to support a rapidly scaling organization.  
  • Unit processing costing: work with our Operations team to establish drivers for unit processing costs, enabling the company to incorporate product-specific and partner-specific unit economics in our planning and pricing
  • Funding: assist with any potential upcoming funding rounds as needed
  • Prepare other reports and participate in other special projects as requested

Experience You Bring

  • Cross-functional and business partnership skills to build solid relationships while also getting results and driving processes to conclusion without assigned authority
  • Ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines in ambiguous situations or where not all information is available
  • Comfortable being hands-on with data and accounting while also being able to step back and think strategically like a CEO
  • Attention to detail
  • Solid Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, ERP/CPM software and database experience, and a passion for all things finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with consumer and/or e-commerce business models
  • Experience with SaaS business models
