Key Responsibilities
Supplier quality, compliance & relationship management Â
- Owns creation, implementation, negotiations and tracking of supplier agreements covering supply base
- Develops and manages supplier scorecards, non-conformance reports, and strategies to improve supplier quality
- Owns strategy for supply base compliance with pertinent product regulations (i.e. Prop65, REACH, RoHS, etc.)Â
Supplier agreements and pruchase price variance ownershipÂ
- Owns creation, implementation, negotiation and ongoing tracking of supplier agreements and terms with supply base
- Supports RFQ process for select product categories
- Negotiates ongoing purchase agreements with supply base that clearly outline prices and lock-in timing
- Consistently drives cost reduction negotiations with base YoY in collaboration with product managers
Indirect spend controlÂ
- Identifies gaps and implements processes to support the sourcing and purchasing of indirect items such as packaging, supplies, and fixtures
- Consolidates purchasing power between functions to leverage volume agreements and VMI where possible
Supply base and product innovation supportÂ
- Understands supply base across several markets and products to identify brand-appropriate opportunities to expand offerings
- Identifies potential dual-sources across supply base for key products
- Identifies potential counter-source opportunities for cost/lead time reduction across all categories
- Creates total cost model for counter source opportunities, determining margin impact considering all factors (i.e freight, cost of quality, etc.)
Sustainability and sourcing strtageyÂ
- Sustainability roadmap across categories in collaboration with Product teams and supply base
- Develops, manages, monitors, and promotes responsible sourcing practices, including Responsible Jewelry Council certification
- Creates selection criteria to support business in determining supplier partnerships
- Actively participates on short- and long-term strategic planning and projects to achieve broader 5-year Shinola goals

QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain. MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred
- 8+ years in strategic leadership roles and progression in Sourcing/Procurement, Product Development, and/or Supply Chain in specialty goods manufacturing environments.
- Strong people leader with proven ability to coach and progress team members and change management.
- Robust negotiation skills and external/internal relationship management of key stakeholders.
- Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (ERP/MRP).
