Title: Director - Strategic Investments and M&A, Americas

Reports To:
  • Direct: Executive Managing Director, Strategic Investments and M&A, Americas


Position Purpose:

This position will manage the development and execution of strategic initiatives for revenue growth, primarily through acquiring companies based on geographical and service line capabilities, and secondarily through establishing partnerships and joint ventures.

Job Description:

This role is primarily responsible for the sourcing and negotiating acquisitions for Americas. Working with the Executive Committee and other business executives, the person will lead the building of an M&A pipeline, identify high value and probability targets, coordinate due diligence activities with internal and external resources, negotiate deal terms, be responsible for deal management and support integration activities.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop Strategic plan for acquisitions with leadership team
  • Perform market research and competitive analysis
  • Primary sourcing responsibility in conjunction with Americas leadership
  • Analyze potential M&A transactions, including developing financial models and valuation analysis
  • Draft investment memos, presentations and recommendations for all stages of the deal process (sourcing to integration)
  • Execute and negotiate transactions independently
  • Assist with all aspects of due diligence, including identifying and quantifying sources of synergies and risk, and summarizing findings
  • Develop and maintain internal tools and processes for tracking all active, inactive, and closed deal activities

  • Transaction negotiation and structuring experience
  • Ability to identify key integration risks and synergy opportunities
  • Superior analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to develop concise presentations articulating complex topics
  • Executive presence with the confidence to provide advice and insight to Americas leadership, and the ability to build strong relationships with senior business leaders
  • Ability to manage messaging upward and downward with internal and external constituents
  • Team player with positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with strong work ethic


Ideal Candidate Required Experience:
  • 10+ years of total experience
  • 5+ years of experience at a top tier or middle market investment bank
  • Private equity or other buy-side experience a plus
  • Extensive experience with financial analysis, due diligence and integration activities
  • Track record of excellence (vis-a-vis peer group) in prior endeavors
  • Demonstrated ability to work well on small deal teams
