Director/Senior Director, People Business Partner (R&D & Technical Operations)

What will you be doing?

A key member of the People Leadership team, the Director/Senior Director, People Business Partner will serve as a trusted business and talent advisor to the leaders & their teams. 

S/he will work collaboratively with the People Team members and will play a critical designing & delivering People team programs to enhance organizational effectiveness across a variety of areas (on-boarding, talent management, manager effectiveness, leadership & career development, etc.) that will have a major impact on Be Bio’s culture, work experience, and ability to thrive at scale.

Organizational Effectiveness & Culture

• Help imbed and maintain a cultural mindset within Be bio that aligns with our values & enables us to scale effectively while delivering meaningful employee experiences & impeccable organizational results
• Work with leaders and design People approaches to help enable the best performance out of their organization & that actions align to our core values
• Utilize a data-driven approach to diagnose opportunities and design/implement solutions to improve the performance of teams & the broader organization
• Partner with leaders in creating a culture of learning & a growth mindset that inspires employees to perform at their best

Leadership & Management Development

• Help define manager expectations & design programs to increase manager effectiveness
• Engage leaders in identifying key talent and ensure that we have stretch assignments in place to grow individuals through real work. Serve as a partner to leaders on the creation of development plans for key talent and determine what development solutions may be appropriate
• Coach leaders proactively providing feedback to help them improve their leadership and impact on the organization
• Support development and execution of new leadership/management development solutions. Provide business insights that ensure design is fit for purpose. Serve as a champion for new solutions; articulate relevance to business strategy and objectives

Recruiting & Onboarding

• Trusted talent advisor to leaders
• Partner with leadership and the People Team to help design the organizations, working with leaders to expand their thinking & define roles/responsibilities, core competencies & interview approach
• Help design an organizational approach to on-boarding for employees that creates an impactful, social, connected, digital, and comprehensive employee experience

Talent Management

• Design & implement People Review Practices to ensure we are mindful of our talent and finding ways to engage & develop all of our team members
• Design a Talent Management plan that enable us to develop & retain exceptional employees, sharing career paths possibilities & ways individuals can grow in their career at Be Bio (within their role & otherwise)

Performance & Rewards

• Ensure robust practices that link performance and reward are embedded
• Partner with People Leadership & team members to support development and execution of reward / recognition programs that attract, retain and recognize talent
• Educate, influence, and advocate total rewards philosophy and programs within the business to ensure fairness and consistency and inspire stronger employee and organizational performance
• Work with leaders to ensure successful execution of the year-end performance and compensation process
• Advise people managers on employee relations issues. Partner with manager and the legal partners to understand trends in employee performance issues and advise on appropriate remediation

Change Management

• Enable leaders to effectively manage change
• Strong focus on change management, partnering closely with business leaders to develop consistent strategies and tactics to help leaders manage transitions

Experience & Capabilities Necessary for Success

• Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 year’s progressive human resources experience having worked across more than one HR discipline including compensation, benefits, talent management, operations or talent acquisition;
• Passionate about the impact of the People Strategy role with experience across many (not all) of the areas listed here: shaping culture & mindset, coaching, facilitation, organizational design & development, talent management, hiring, & change management;
• Experience in a growth organization where ambiguity, quick decision-making and change management skills are routinely leveraged;
• Experience designing, developing, & implementing programs (of any kind) that have impact across a large department or company-wide
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish rapport with all levels of the organization;
• Ability to influence leaders creating alignment between business strategy, goals, behaviors, and culture to drive performance;
• Curious, willingness to learn and actively seek out information needed to be successful
