What will you be doing?

This is a unique opportunity to manage a team of reporters and shape and direct specialized coverage of the nitrogen, phosphate and potash markets in the US and Canada, as well as related industry, regulatory and policy issues.

Fertilizer is a diversified and niche commodity sector at the intersection of energy and agriculture. Feeding the world would be impossible without mass production of crops, and synthetic fertilizers, many of which produced from natural gas or mining, are needed to maximize yields while arable land area declines. Because of this, the editor role is inter-disciplinary, requiring interest in economics, logistics and various related markets, especially agriculture, and an ability to synthesize complex and sometimes disparate information to create a solid, comprehensive story line.

What we're looking for in you:

Ultimately, the successful candidate will be speaking to contacts as an equal, with two-way communication vital. You will be an expert with a forward-looking authoritative voice in the industry.

This is a key role within Argus as a market expert who can point our Editorial product toward deeper analysis and context. We are looking for a mentor who can hone and develop reporters into individual market experts. The ideal candidate will be able to represent Argus' Editorial interests both internally and externally before industry functions. They must have a keen eye for the market's information and benchmarking needs and be able to respond nimbly with the needed resources.

Priority will be given to candidates with a demonstrated track record in leading Editorial teams, especially within price reporting agencies. Priority will also be given to candidates with experience with fertilizer or related markets.

The publication space is competitive with several other PRAs in this space. The successful candidate will want to be competitive in getting and reporting deals, while still adhering to methodology.
