Divergent has invented a complete manufacturing solution to address system level challenges. The Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) is a complete software hardware solution designed to replace traditional vehicle manufacturing. To make the complex simple, it is a complete modular digital factory for complex structures. Given a set of digital requirements as input, the machine automatically computationally engineers, additively manufactures, and assembles any complex structure. The system is able to move seamlessly between manufacturing different vehicle models.


Purpose of Job: 




Divergent Technologies is currently seeking a highly skilled, experienced EHS Engineer to join our growing and developing organization. The EHS Engineer will oversee the daily operations of the facility making sure that the working conditions are carried out in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Basic Qualifications:

•B.S. degree in a related field. 

•Minimum 5 years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of occupational health, safety and environmental disciplines, with previous experience in manufacturing or automotive environments. .

•Self-starter and problem solver. 

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Highly detail oriented, diligent, hard working with excellent customer interface skills


Responsibilities:

•Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agencies.

•Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations established by the EPA, CERCLA, RCRA, DOT, TRRC, RWQCB, NEPA and other applicable regulatory agencies.

•Provide EHS direction, guidance, and technical advice to employees and local leadership to ensure employees are provided a safe working environment.

•Maintain environmental permits and records, prepare and submit various environmental reports to the appropriate agencies.

•Maintain and complete inspections and updates for all environmental programs including: Spill Prevention, Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) plan, Storm Water, Air Emissions, Hazardous Waste, Emergency Response and others as required.

•Conduct daily, weekly and monthly inspections as required to ensure compliance to Divergent’s directives as well as applicable regulatory requirements including the aggressive correction of audit findings while tracking actions to closure.

•Inventory and arrange for disposal of hazardous waste and maintain LQG processes and protocol.

•Maintains the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS) and work with the team to ensure facility remains ISO 14001 certified.

•Collect, maintain and provide information to Management on environmental compliance and sustainability programs.

•Perform audits 

•Maintain systems for incident/accident prevention and ensure thorough incident investigations are conducted for all occupational and environmental incidents.

•Assess training needs, evaluate EH&S programs/processes, develop EH&S training as necessary 

•Perform Job Hazard analysis on new and existing processes. Work with managers to ensure proper procedures and PPE are identified, available and in use.

Requirements:


Education:

B.S. degree in engineering (safety, environmental, or mechanical)


Licenses/Certificates:

EHS or ISO related a plus


Experience:

Minimum 5 years EHS experience, manufacturing process knowledge and automotive industry preferred

Physical Demands:

Able to lift 50# regularly
