Summary

As an Electronics Technician the incumbent will apply skill and knowledge of electronics to perform basic but progressively more difficult assignments associated with analyzing, installing, repairing, fabricating, or troubleshooting electronic, electrical and mechanical systems and components.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-F level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to next lower grade level, FV-E (FG/GS-7/8). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience for the F Band is applicable field experience with principles and practices involved with inspection and analysis, repairing equipment, communications, knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical support, electronics and installation systems.

To qualify for this position at the FV-G (FG/GS-10-11) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS - 9. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for the G band is experienceinstallation, maintenance and modification of electronics equipment. Equipment to include but is not limited to radar systems, navigational aid equipment such as lighted and distance measuring equipment, communication systems such as radio/microwave communications.

To qualify for this position at the FV-H (FG/GS-12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS 10/11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.

Specialized experience for the H band is experience ininstallation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of systems and system components such as computers, navigation and communications equipment, and electronic data communications equipment.

Education

Two full years of graduate education or a master's degree meets the requirements for GS-9/FV-F.
