Emergency Medicine Physician

Charlie Norwood VAMC is looking for a board-certified physician in our Emergency Department. The candidate will provide a full range of emergency care in the Emergency Department for Veterans at the in Augusta, GA. Applicants should have completed a residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association in Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine. 

Preferred experience for this position is a candidate who is residency trained and board-certified in Emergency or Internal Medicine and fulfills the qualifications for a faculty appointment at Augusta University. In addition, it is preferred the candidate have teaching experience with residents in the Emergency Medicine setting.

CHARLIE NORWOOD VA MEDICAL CENTER The Augusta Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center (CNVAMC) is a level 1a, medical school affiliated, two-division Medical Center that provides tertiary care in Medicine, Surgery, Specialty Care, Neurology, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehab, Primary Care, Geriatrics, and a dedicated Spinal Cord Institute serving a multi-state catchment area. The Medical Center is affiliated with the Augusta University [AU], in Augusta, GA and the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical center, integrating clinical care, teaching, and research, making it an attractive academic and research Medical Center.

Work Schedule:  Full time, Flexible shift work to include days and nights; some weekend/holiday coverage required (specifics can be discussed during interview or upon selection.)

Pay: Competitive  salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases 

Board certified in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine. 

Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. 

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting. 

Paid Time Off:  50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME.

AUGUSTA, GEORGIA Located near the South Carolina border, Augusta, Georgia, is the state's second-largest metropolitan area.  A very low cost of living, stable real estate market and excellent schools and neighborhoods makes Augusta an ideal place to call home.  Augusta is probably best known for its golf courses.
