Job Description

As Employment Investigator at Meta, you will be responsible for conducting prompt, thorough, and fair investigations comprising background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings in partnership with Employment Law, HR and Employee Relations Business Partners, and the business. Although you will primarily conduct investigations in your local region, you will be expected to manage investigations cross-regionally.Success in this role will require working effectively across geographical boundaries and discerning systemic issues revealed during the investigative process. Our Employment Investigators demonstrate a high degree of empathy balanced against providing direct feedback and confronting witnesses with difficult information. Experienced in articulating summaries and conclusions to the business so that long-term solutions can be developed and applied. As an Employment Investigator, you will also have the opportunity to deliver compliance education programs and training designed proactively to address workplace issues.

Employment Investigator Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex employment related investigations, end-to-end, including conducting intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, and debrief meetings, across Meta office locations within the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
  • Partner closely with global cross-functional partners within Employment Law, Human Resources and Employee Relations, Security, Internal Audit, , and business units Investigate complaints involving violations of law or policy, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, bullying, privacy concerns, conflict of interest, integrity, failure to escalate and other inappropriate behavior.
  • Provide timely communication to all relevant parties throughout investigations process, including responding to case escalations
  • Remain respectful and empathetic in the face of difficult and uncomfortable situations surrounding an investigation
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience to work independently, act on priorities and exercise proven judgment.
  • Experience conducting investigations that will withstand legal scrutiny in multiple jurisdictions
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills in a highly cross-functional environment.
  • Experience documenting investigations findings and recommendations
  • Experience presenting findings and recommendations to leadership or those with dissenting opinions
  • Agile and adaptable to rapidly changing environment
  • Problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking skills and high degree of experience working with data
  • 10+ years of experience investigating and advising on employment-related matters
  • Experienced discerning systemic issues and utilizing data to help develop long-term solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) or advanced degree in relevant field
  • Facilitation and training experience
  • Experience identifying relevant legal issues
  • Project management experience both at a strategic and tactical level
  • Formal training and/or Certification in Workplace Investigations
  • Experience, either in conducting and/or managing investigations or in practicing labor and employment law
  • Experience in conducting facilitations and/or mediations

$143,000/year to $207,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
