Eaton's Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team. This position will be a hybrid office (3x2) role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh, NC facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $130,500 - $191,400 a year.

What you'll do:

The Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Engineering Manager will oversee multiple new product development projects for high-power three-phase UPS systems. The role involves managing a team of electrical and mechanical engineers and technicians, along with the RPO CPS test engineering team.

In this role you will:

  • Leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team for developing new high-power three-phase UPS products that meet global market requirements, incorporate new manufacturing technologies, adhere to international safety standards, and follow Eaton's stage gate process.
  • Managing 2-4 NPD projects on a daily basis and maintaining engineering accountability for these projects.
  • Defining standard DVT and validation test templates and supporting test automation in collaboration with the global engineering team using a common platform and hardware. Modernizing and digitizing data collection, storage, and reporting processes.
  • Providing timely feedback and coaching to direct reports to ensure performance and professional development. Conducting performance reviews to evaluate team members' progress towards objectives, competencies, and their development plans.
  • Participating in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents.
  • Assuring that product platforms and product designs are competitive on a global basis with respect to quality, performance, cost and reliability.
  • Communicating technical concepts and information to internal staff/peers and stakeholders; strong verbal and written documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Interacting and collaborating with colleagues in Product Management, Manufacturing, Service, DCS and Quality to ensure successful product line deployment.
  • Championing continuous process improvements and promote Electrical and Mechanical Engineering functional excellence throughout the team.
  • Fostering an environment that promotes Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum six (6) years' engineering management experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years' experience working in either a manufacturing, industrial, quality or design engineering position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Electrical or mechanical design experience with high-power, three-phase UPS system
  • Manager experience leading a cross-functional engineering team in high-power electrical equipment product development projects
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering design tools
