Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) assists senior management in identifying and assessing key risks (e.g., operational, financial reporting, etc.) and related controls. The challenge is identifying the correct qualitative and quantitative measures and using them to help mitigate risks that are beyond the appetite of the Company's stakeholders. Working in ERM is a unique opportunity and establishes a great foundation for a banking career, as risk management analysts are exposed to the broad scope of the Bancorporation, its divisions, and its operations.
Responsibilities
The Enterprise Business Analyst responsibilities include:
- Developing newly requested risk reporting in the appropriate format
- Maintaining existing risk reporting
- Quickly understanding a large amount of risk related data and being able to summarize information into executive summaries and recommendations.
- Communicating professionally and timely with key stakeholders
- Exploring and understanding new data sources and finding ways for data sources to be effectively used throughout the organization
- Setting up automation on new and existing requests as applicable
- Assisting in process improvement activities
- Assisting in training more junior analysts on the team
- Develop and maintain statistical models as needs arise
- Recommending and helping develop and implement other risk management initiatives
- Work in a dynamic environment where risk management analysts frequently evaluate different bank processes (on both micro and macro levels) and work with management (including executive management) throughout the entire Bancorporation and affiliates.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a high aptitude for critical thinking and analyzing processes and their associated risks and controls.
Required:
- 2-4+ years of analytics, reporting, risk management, or other directly related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Math, Economics, Information Systems, or other related subject.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with individuals in various leadership positions
- Advanced knowledge of SQL and at least one other programming language (ex. Python, R, SAS, JavaScript, etc.)
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Preferred:
- Master's Degree preferred
- Data engineering experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Products (PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization/dashboarding tool
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage a variety of competing tasks
- Ability to learn quickly, and to demonstrate flexibility as requirements and/or processes change
- Ability to effectively train and support others on department processes
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
