Job Description

The Solution Architect will work collaboratively with Business and delivery teams to provide detailed technical design knowledge, recommendations on patterns/best practices and implementation decisions. The architect will author solution & technical design documents and provide technical leadership to implementation teams. The ideal candidate will be experienced with solutioning, estimating, best practices, implementation patterns & conformance reviews.

Job Responsibilities

• Defining the solution architecture for projects across several business domains through understanding functional, non-functional requirements and Business strategy.
• Driving alignment and consistency of the solution design by working with the regional and global architecture teams.
• Owning and governing the solution design through the entire project implementation phase including guiding and mentoring the team.
• Producing all architecture related artifacts required as part of the SDLC.
• Effectively communicating the architecture to business and IT partners.
• Working with Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts to contribute to high level project schedules, resource plans for the project, and project costs
• Supporting multiple concurrent project implementations where applicable.
• Engaging with in-country systems teams as necessary

Required Skills and Experiences

• Bachelor of Science Degree - Computer Science or related field
• Communication skills - verbal communication is clear, professional and persuasive in positive and negative situations; listens and gets clarification.
• Manage all aspects of transformation program delivery, including inception, requirements definition, development, integration, testing, release management, financial management, user acceptance, transition to BAU support.
• Overall accountable for program portfolio solution & design.
• Partner with Business and IT delivery teams to successfully deliver transformation programs.
• Ensure alignment to architecture & delivery standards and transformation delivery guidelines
• Strong IT Architecture experience
• 10+ years or more architecture or delivery experience
• Involvement in multiple policy administration implementations for Tier 1 insurance carriers
• Modern IT architecture, development methodology and automation skills
• Ability to operate and have credibility with senior business executives (e.g. BU CEOs, COOs etc)
• Consulting or project transformation experience at an expert level
• Leadership - Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well. Excellent team building and coaching skills. Can successfully organize and direct large teams of people. Energetic leader with a positive attitude and a go-getter drive. Ability to effectively interact with senior management
• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability for productive collaboration across varying departments. Comfortable building relationships, internally and externally
• Self-motivated and self-sufficient
• Comfortable in voicing his/her opinion and representing the viewpoints of others in a productive manner
• Ability to deal well with ambiguity, conflict and difficult situations, and ability to deal with change in a pro-active and positive manner

Compensation:

For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $123,000 -$163,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
