About the Role:

Industrious is building a range of products and services that solve the needs of large commercial landlords. One such product is to provide programming, events, and manage amenities for the office tenants of large buildings. This is a critical part of our longer-term competitive strategy, and an important proof point that we can execute a new product for a new kind of customer.

Industrious is hiring a Tenant Experience Manager to work within our Shift Program to build out and manage high-impact customer experience initiatives for the tenants of two commercial properties located in San Francisco (Financial District and San Mateo). This person will be responsible for delivering exceptional service, planning and executing engaging events, keeping a strong pulse on the wants and needs of tenants and property stakeholders, and managing other ongoing data collection, programming, and marketing projects for the Shift team as needed.

You’ll love this role if:

  • You’re creative but can take direction and feedback to improve and grow
  • You’re resourceful, organized, work well independently, and under pressure
  • You're dialed in to local culture and can spot sticky national trends that can translate into engaging on-site programming
  • You’re quick to empathize - you can gauge someone’s mindset, questions, concerns, and priorities from a quick conversation, and communicate in tailored ways that work for them in that moment
  • You’re a sponge for new learnings and insights - you collect data points and stories in your mind. You make connections between them, and love digging into the deeper whys behind the surface level to get at a surprising finding

This role isn’t for you if:

  • You thrive with a lot of structure and being guided on what exactly success looks like from the outset
  • You cannot organize/prioritize competing priorities, projects, timelines, or tasks
  • You do not work well under pressure
  • You do not work well independently and need to be in an office environment with coworkers consistently present
  • You find work, workplace experience, or commercial real estate really boring
  • You cannot wear multiple hats in your job (ex: event planner, hospitality manager, programming brainstormer, marketing and social media manager)
  • If you don't look good in the color gray as at times the job will seem ambiguous

Responsibilities include:

  • Educating both new and existing building tenants about the Shift tenant experience program and benefits of the program, promoting the Shift program to both new and existing building tenants, and registering building tenants for Shift
  • Facilitating outstanding customer service to various building stakeholders including building owners and tenants
  • Planning, organizing, and executing high-impact events and services that build community and provide lasting value to building tenants includes identifying bespoke/local vendors, managing the budget, problem solving/troubleshooting on the spot if necessary
  • Driving logistics and coordination of individual events large and small that delight tenants, exercising discretion within predefined brand/hospitality standards
  • Creating a warm and welcoming environment via hospitality initiatives and standards that make tenants feel cared for
  • Resolving tenant issues with professionalism and patience in a timely manner
  • Working collaboratively with the property management team to deliver great outcomes for tenants
  • Management of local vendors to coordinate facilitation of events including catering, decor, and furniture/linen rental and cleaning
  • Building strong bonds with tenants and members based on a genuine understanding of tenant businesses (including milestones) and members themselves including their job and lifestyle, commute, types of Shift events they like to attend, etc.
  • Owning and managing ongoing projects that impact the Shift program portfolio-wide, including data collection, programming, operations and marketing initiatives
  • Crafting and delivering communications and content using brand tone and voice that encourages engagement and participation in the Shift program

Requirements:

  • 2 - 3 years of work experience in hospitality or event management including display decoration, vendor management/communication, creating tablescapes, and managing small and large events and pop-ups
  • Self starter who has both the ability to work independently and with other, remote, Shift team members on long term projects and concepts
  • Ability to own projects start to finish (including the fine details and multiple deadlines) and communicate with Program Managers as needed
  • Ability to maintain a building master budget and keep track of expenses/receipts for monthly expense reports
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking skills and ability to work well among competing priorities
  • Ability to connect well with people; warm and approachable
  • Passion for delighting customers through value-add events and programming
  • Enjoys continuous change and improvement/works well in ambiguity; flexibility with change and the ability to pivot to new needs of members/stakeholders/program initiatives
  • High hustle quotient: willing to get your hands dirty as necessary to move fast and get things done
  • Ability and willingness to be onsite at the property 4-5 days per week; flexibility with onsite hours (as some events take place prior to 9am or after 5pm); access to a car or other reliable means of transportation preferred (Shift Manager is expected to cover their own mass transit costs)
  • Ability to lift 15-25 lbs on a regular basis
  • Prior leadership experience or property management experience is a plus; prior experience in design (including Canva and LucidPress) and managing social channels (Instagram and Hootsuite) for companies is a plus; prior experience tracking data and feedback and reading trends (Delighted and SendGrid experience a plus)

Compensation:

The annual base compensation range for this role is between $65,000 and $75,000. The successful candidate's actual base compensation will be based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and professional qualifications.

You will also be eligible for an annual bonus calculated based on individual and company performance.

Base and bonus compensation are just two components of Industrious’ total compensation package that may be available to employees.  Other great employee perks and benefits include heavily subsidized healthcare plans, generous paid time off, company stock options, wellness programs, professional development grants, 401k plan, and many other benefits, subject to applicable eligibility criteria and company policies.

If your expected compensation falls outside of the given range, and you are still interested in working at Industrious, why not join our Talent Pipeline and be kept in the loop for all new opportunities that could be a good fit for your experience.
