Executive Communications Writer

Constructor.io powers product search and discovery for some of the largest retailers in the world, like Sephora and Backcountry. We serve billions of requests every year, and you've probably seen our results somewhere and used our product without knowing it. We differentiate ourselves by focusing on metrics over features, and reinventing search and discovery from the ground up as a machine learning challenge with the specific goal of improving metrics like revenue. We have grown several hundred percent YoY for the last 2 years and have customers in every eCommerce vertical, around the world, and spanning many languages.

The Executive Communications Writer will serve a critical storytelling function to help Constructor grow in brand awareness and drive industry narrative. Reporting to the Director of Content and working closely alongside the CEO and other executives, you will create high-value thought leadership pieces for owned and earned media on the topics of ecommerce, retail technology, and AI.

Additional responsibilities may include researching internal data to surface insights (data storytelling experience is a plus) and writing in-depth customer case studies.

Please note that this is part time role. We are looking for ~20 hours per week.

What we are looking for:

• Exceptional writing skills are a must! You have the ability to turn complicated ideas into writing that's easy to understand and fun to read. Experience ghostwriting for executives is highly desirable.
• Background in English, literature, journalism, or teaching preferred with relevant experience in business writing, copy editing, etc.
• You must have prior tech industry experience and be familiar with the SaaS world. Ecommerce, AI, or retail technology experience is preferred.
• Critical thinking - you don't have to have all the answers, but you need to know the right questions to ask and be able to listen for the most important information.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal. You have a keen attention to detail and the ability to create publication-worthy content without needing heavy editing or more than one or two rounds of revisions.
• You're a proactive and creative problem solver.
• Experience repurposing long-form content for other social channels (social media, video scripts, etc.) is a plus.
