Job Summary: The Export Classification Analyst will perform research and collect data, and determine the final export classification of hardware, technical data, and services and will assist with classifying imported products utilizing the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Code of Federal Regulations. The Export Classification Analyst is responsible for the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of processes related to export and HTS classifications. This position typically works under general supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors pending or future changes to regulatory environment to properly assess and understand impact to export compliance program.
- Performs research and collects data, and determines the final export classification of hardware, technical data, and services.
- Develops and manages processes and work instructions required to determine the jurisdiction and classification of commodities, software, data and services, company-wide under the U.S. ITAR and EAR and ensures permanent recordkeeping system is in place for the supporting documentation of rationale utilized for assigned classifications.
- Provides assistance with special trade programs, customs valuation, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications, and country of origin evaluation.
- Assists in the development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of classification procedures and work instructions.
- Works closely with the IT organization on numerous IT system improvements to strengthen jurisdiction and classification processes and accuracy.
- Assists in the implementation of a global training program, ensuring that employees worldwide receive proper training on jurisdiction and classification and applicable export regulations.
- Provides assistance with trade preference program certifications and qualifications (i.e. NAFTA)
- Ensures recordkeeping system is in place and maintain export records in accordance with US international trade regulations and policies.
- Supports the department manager in evaluating processes of functional organizations to enhance, implement, monitor, and control Company import/export compliance program.
- Performs export compliance program audits and develops and implements corrective action plans.
- Works closely with company product area managers, program managers, and business development staff, and participates in programmatic discussions/meetings to identify and implement import/export requirements.
- Enhances knowledge in ITAR and EAR by attending various seminars and classes and reviewing the Federal Registers for any upcoming changes and updates to the regulations.
- Participates in other global trade compliance initiatives and special projects as required.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Four year college degree, plus a minimum of two years of experience or equivalent combination of work and education. Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), U.S. Customs Regulations and regulations governing permanent imports is preferred. Formal ITAR/EAR training is preferred. Prior experience classifying dual use and/or military parts is preferred. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Also required are excellent organizational, analytical, communication (verbal and written), and teamwork skills. Must be able to interact well with all levels within the organization. Be able to set priorities to achieve desired results and work independently as well as collaboratively.

(Colorado only*) Targeted full-time salary range between $61,934- 78,091+ benefits.
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation range for this role when being hired to work from Colorado.
(New York only**) Targeted full-time salary range between $66,904- 100,852 + benefits.
**Note: Disclosure as required by New York Law.
(California only***) Targeted full-time salary range between $69,141- 98,715 + benefits.

(Washington only****) Targeted full-time salary range between $68,175- 85,960 + benefits outlined above.
