Summary
You will serve as a FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST in the SURFACE WARFARE ENGINEERING SCHOOL COMMAND (SWESC) of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a Ph.D or equivalent graduate degree in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration
or
Successful completion of three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a doctoral degree in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration
or

or
A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience

This is an obligated position. The former incumbent has return rights to this position under PL 86-585.
Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations. Additionally, you may be noncompetitively converted to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment under specific conditions.
A 40 hour work week is typical for this position.
This position is being recruited at the full performance level.

Military Spouse Preference applicants will be placed at the highest grade for which they have applied and are determined Best Qualified (BQ). PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work involves inter-building travel and inspection in and about Command facilities. Requires some physical exertion such as; standing, stair climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, use of step ladders, bending, crouching and stooping, reaching, stretching, or similar activities. Also, some sedentary office work is involved.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required. Work occasionally calls for exposure to less than normal standards involving inspection and planning in building or facility mechanical rooms, basement utility and power distribution vaults, and exposure to dirt, dust, and other environmental irritants.
