Title:Â Finance Analyst
Reports To:Â Senior Director of Finance
Location:Â Remote (In person meetings as needed)
Role overview: The Finance Analyst role focuses on providing a variety of financial planning and analysis services to clients across Propeller’s portfolio of early stage e-commerce and technology companies. Over the past few years this has included companies such as Away, Casper, Hubble and Hims.
In collaboration with Propeller CFOs and Directors of Finance, you will work with a variety of high-growth clients (ranging from Seed to Series C stage) to analyze their business, build detailed financial operating models, improve their forecasting, refine their financial reporting and use data to optimize strategic decision-making.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for a variety of e-commerce and software businesses, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts
- Develop business performance reporting and custom financial & operating KPI dashboards; Report on KPIs on a monthly basis. These will include revenue, COGS, inventory, customer analytics etc.
- Work hand-in-hand with accounting team to review and cross-check monthly client financial performance
- Perform monthly variance analysis focused on actuals vs. budget, working with client to understand reason for variances and update forecast accordingly
- Proactively explore and help implement ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of current modeling processes
- Work with clients and Propeller finance leaders to find analytical and modeling projects outside of the normal budgeting and review process to add additional value
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in finance-focused roles such as FP&A role in-house at high-growth company, management consulting, or investment banking
- Great team player with strong work ethic
- Extremely strong financial modeling and Excel skills
- Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details and adapt to shifting priorities
- Good communication skills internally and with clients
- Ability to manage multiple client workstreams in an organized manner and respond to ad-hoc requests to support business decisions in timely and efficient manner
Compensation:Â $85,000-$105,000 plus bonus, benefits and 401k match
