Summary
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the Certain Competitive Service / Modified Direct Hire Authority. Conditions of Employment

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting with the performance of functions of budget and/or financial objectives. Specialized experience includes the some or all of the following: 1) Gathering financial data and identifying discrepancies in the data; 2) Assisting in the preparation of budgets; and 3) Has knowledge of administrative and financial management systems.
GS-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector applying a wide range of standard practices and procedures to phases of an annual budget and/or financial administrative processes. Specialized experience includes most or all of the following: 1) Analyzing financial data to recommend costs and benefits; 2) Assisting in development, determination, and interpretation of budgetary policies and practices; and 3) Ability to work independently and within a team environment assisting in accounting, budget, and other related financial management work.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-07:
1 full year of graduate level education
or
a bachelor's degree withsuperior academic achievement
or
a combination of experience and education.
GS-09:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
or
a combination of experience and education.
Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to do the work.

Several vacancies may be filled.
This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
