Role Overview
As a Founding Engineer at CardNexus you'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the architecture for our all-in-one TCG platform. As the first tech hire you'll have the autonomy to shape our systems and infrastructure ensuring scalability performance and reliability for a high-traffic marketplace. What You’ll Do
Over the next 24 months you’ll:
- Architect a Scalable Backend : Design robust high-performance systems for our marketplace supporting complex user interactions.
- Develop Core Features : Lead the implementation of features like real-time card scanning inventory management and trade matching.
- Optimize Infrastructure : Build systems for logging monitoring and scaling in a high-traffic environment.
- Secure the Platform : Implement KYC and security measures to protect user data and enable safe transactions.
- Integrate CI/CD Pipelines : Streamline deployment and testing processes to support a rapid development cycle.
- Contribute Broadly : Be a hands-on contributor across the backend stack leveraging your expertise in databases cloud and infrastructure to deliver high-quality results.
What You Bring
- Deep Technical Expertise : Proven experience in architecting and delivering complex backend systems with proficiency in Node.js TypeScript and database management (relational and NoSQL).
- Broad Knowledge : Comfort across areas like cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS GCP) logging and monitoring CI/CD pipelines and performance optimization.
- Autonomy and Ownership : Ability to take ownership of projects and deliver end-to-end solutions with minimal oversight.
- Problem-Solving Mindset : A talent for breaking down complex challenges into scalable maintainable solutions.
- Communication : Fluent written and spoken english
- Collaboration Skills : A team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Knowledge and experience with React Next.js
