Golin San Francisco is hiring a freelance VP Executive Director. As freelance Executive Director, you will act as lead for one of our top clients for consumer communications initiatives and partner director with our EVP, Executive Director.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop trusted advisor relationships with our clients as the day-to-day contact for both consumer and corporate communications, providing strategic counsel and a mastery of all aspects of client management
• Flesh out ideas as they relate to client objectives and learn how to bring them to life in presentations and written proposals
• Lead an integrated team in earned creative development and activation of consumer campaigns
• Lead corporate communications team relying on a diverse range of storytelling tactics across earned, owned, paid and social media
• Ready to respond during times of crisis, collaborate with agency SMEs to provide counsel
• Help serve as a role model and mentor to the broader account team

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience with 12+ years of experience
• Successful experience leading and managing teams and large consumer brands
• Leadership experience as a people manager, collaborator, and advocate, a voice for the team and your direct reports
• Comfort and command as a senior client counselor in times of need
• Heightened knowledge around emerging news and how to guide clients through these topics
• An analytical mindset to evaluate situations from different angles, with a solutions-oriented approach
• Skilled at fostering growth and development
• Not afraid to challenge clients and team members, but knows how to resolve, gain consensus and move forward
• Experience managing all financial aspects of client business and managing/achieving revenue goals internally at an agency is critical

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations. Hourly rate: $170 - $190 per hour.
