Frontend Engineer, DeFi Lending Application

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer to join the remote team at Trust Machines, and join the Granite team to help us craft a beautiful, consumer-facing DeFi Application. The Lending app is building the bleeding edge of Bitcoin DeFi, using novel smart contracting functionality on Bitcoin to deliver a 10x improvement on existing DeFi lending. This role will be critical in improving the user experience of a product as it goes to market. The ideal candidate has start-up experience, is passionate about building amazing consumer apps, and is hungry to build the next big Web3 app. 

What You’ll Do:

• Participate in launching a new DeFi product, and work in quick iterative cycles to provide impactful user experience upgrades
• Develop, maintain, and evolve the Granite web and/or mobile surface. 
• Work closely with the team to understand user needs, and work on high-impact features for our protocol, while championing mature engineering practices.
• Work closely with engineering peers to align on architectural direction and consistent use of design patterns, while considering how code can be shared cross-product.
• Collaborate with the design team, considering multiple ways to solve problems, weighing up implementation complexity, user experience, and product impact.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in consumer software engineering, ideally in a startup 
• Experience with Typescript, frontend frameworks (ideally React, React Native)
• Familiarity with UI design best practices
• High degree of user empathy, inclination to question assumptions, independent self-organizer, openness to feedback, and comfort with technical complexity

We’d Also Like to See:

• Familiarity with Bitcoin, Stacks, and other DeFi protocols
• A security-focused mindset, and familiarity with common attack vectors
• Excited to work in the crypto industry
• We’d love to see any portfolio materials with your application.

• Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Trust Machines also include equity + token incentives + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)). Pay Range: $120,000—$150,000 USD
