Job Description

Join us in this exciting role as a Full Stack Engineer in our Belgrade office and help us build the future of the Swiss real estate market by contributing to our cutting edge, cloud based, technology stack. You will get to collaborate and access the wealth of knowledge and experience from a community of amazing engineers who come from all parts of the globe.

About the position

Our small and international team is part of the established engineering department of SMG’s Real Estate branch. Joining us will give you the unique opportunity to:

• Challenge the status quo by continuously aiming to improve the architecture, code and tools to drive the delivery of high-quality software.

• Encourage knowledge sharing and drive technical discussions.

• Design, implement, test and deliver new features that bring value to our customers.

• Translate high-level ideas and requirements into practical solutions.

• Leverage your technical and interpersonal skills in facilitating collaboration between teams.
  

Our tech stack

• Our frontend is implemented in Vue.js, with Typescript being the language of choice. It consists of a mix of client-side, server-side and isomorphic apps.

• Our backend is written in Node.js and Typescript, following a serverless microservice architecture using AWS.

• Our monitoring is mainly powered by Datadog and Sentry.

Qualifications

We seek more than just a coder; we are fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative learning.

Basic Requirements

• An academic degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.

• 3-4 years of professional experience, preferably working on an in-house project. 

• Creative, adaptable and problem solving individual who thrives in collaborative environments.

• History of productive teamwork, preferably combined with experience in pair programming.

• Fluency in English with a strong ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

• Strong passion for knowledge sharing.

• Dedication to continuous learning.

• Solid critical thinking skills and ability to foster innovation.

TypeScript Expertise

• Apply your strong TypeScript proficiency in a NodeJS based stack to create high-quality and well maintainable code.

• Elevate our team with hands-on mentoring, pairing sessions, and in-depth code reviews.

• Advocate for best practices and ensure our codebase is well-tested and of the highest quality.

In addition to having a deep understanding of TypeScript, you should be adept in at least one of the following skills:

• Front-end frameworks (Vue.js or React)

• AWS or other cloud service providers (e.g. Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud)

• Testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Puppeteer/Cypress)
