Full Stack Software Engineer, University Graduate, Makrwatch - Y Combinator 2015

Makrwatch engineers develop next-generation solutions that improve how brands discover evaluate and collaborate with YouTube creators and their content for influencer marketing campaigns. Our products handle massive amounts of information and process video audio and text to discover insights and patterns that help brands understand their audience and how creators can interact better with them. We are looking to utilize many areas of computer science such as artificial intelligence natural language processing large-scale system design big data processing and visualization and user interface design among others.

As a software engineer you work with a small team and challenge yourself to solve complex projects that help our startup build an industry challenge incumbents and achieve results that traditionally required large teams. We need our engineers to be resourceful fast learners creative and enthusiastic about using the latest technologies to create solutions that multiply our customers success. With your technical expertise you manage individual projects’ priorities deadlines and deliverables. You design develop test deploy maintain and enhance software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack experience developing rich and intuitive consumer-facing products.

Makrwatch launched less than 1 year ago already has multiple media agencies and brands using it to improve their collaborations with YouTube creators. Among our clients is one of the biggest sponsor of YouTube creators in the world. We believe video will grow exponentially over the coming years and content creators will continue to challenge mass media as we know it. Together we will help marketing evolve to become more transparent sustainable and focused on improving people’s lives.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and launch highly-visible end-user facing features.

• Design and develop large-scale web applications.

• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications.

• Write server-side code integrating third-party services (e.g. Google Cloud APIs YouTube API Auth0 Bitly) create robust high-volume production applications and quickly develop prototypes.

• Take on tasks as required following through to completion despite roadblocks or distractions.

• Manage individual project priorities deadlines and deliverables.

• Understand our client's business.

Minimum Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience with AJAX HTML and CSS.

• Experience with JavaScript or Python.

• Web application development experience.

• 2+ years of HTML/CSS experience including concepts like layout specificity and cross-browser compatibility.

• 2+ years of JavaScript experience including concepts like asynchronous programming closures types and ES6.

• 2+ years experience with browser APIs and optimizing front-end performance.

• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

• Excellent interpersonal skills cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React/Redux.

• Interest in and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.

• Familiarity with the whole web stack including protocols and web server optimization techniques.

• Experience with the latest and greatest web standards including HTML5 and CSS3.

• Experience with cloud computing services like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
