Job Description
Duties can include but are not limited to performing:
- Providing outpatient and inpatient consultations to evaluate patients with G.I. diseases, including sharing on-call service.
- Performing routine diagnostic, therapeutic upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
- Providing routine care including health maintenance as well as diagnostic/therapeutic service for patients with acute conditions including pancreaticobiliary diseases and patients admitted with acute cholangitis, obstructive jaundice, and other significant G.I. issues.
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty
Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
