GCP cloud engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Public Cloud Services Team at Ford Business Solutions, India is seeking a dedicated GCP Engineer with expertise in Google Compute Engine (GCE) VM operations, Python development, and Terraform. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who thrives on exploring new technologies and spearheading the creation of cutting-edge products and services for end-users. The ideal candidate must possess a strong background in frontend design, backend API development, system integration, database management, and server infrastructure setup. Collaborating effectively with a team of developers throughout the project lifecycle is essential for success in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing efficient digital solutions using fit-for-purpose technology architectures to deliver target business outcomes

• Analyzing and translating business requirements into technical requirements

• Troubleshooting and patching Linux and Windows systems in a GCP environment

• Ensuring compliance with security standards and regulations

• Experience with Google Compute Engine (GCE) VMs in GCP

• Windows Server Administration (L2) for Server Operating Systems 2019, 2022, 2019 core, 2022 core, and any upcoming releases

• Linux Server Administration (L2) for Server Operating Systems Ubuntu 20 and 22, Rhel 8 and sap, Sles 15 series and any new upcoming releases

• Utilize PowerShell/Bash scripting for server-related tasks

• Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) ticketing model

• Proficiency in Terraform, Python scripting, and other such automation tools

• Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies as required

• Provide technology recommendations for cost and security optimization

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications

• Design RESTful APIs using Python or NodeJS

• Develop backend code using server/serverless architecture

• Provide production support for critical applications and services

• Create and maintain documentation for code

• Deliver project milestones while ensuring quality standards

• Setting up and managing services using GCP Cloud Run, Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Cloud Scheduler

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering/computer applications

• 3+ years experience windows/linux server administration (L2), troubleshooting issues and maintaining compliance and security standards for VMs

• 3+ years of experience in developing efficient RESTful endpoints (Python Flask, FastAPI, etc.) for handling concurrent requests efficiently

• Experience with logging and monitoring services (Dynatrace, GCP Ops Suites)

• Knowledge of SQL/No-SQL databases such as BigQuery, Spanner, or MongoDB

• Setting up serverless functions using GCP Cloud Run or Cloud Functions

• Knowledge of AWS or GCP and configuring infrastructure using Terraform

• Experience with Docker containers and hosting them remotely

• Hands-on experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines (OpenShift Tekton, GitHub Actions, etc.)

• Strong communication skills
