Job Description
The Maitenance Manager is responsible for the technical state of the Site / Plant, safeguarding that the factory and its installations and equipment are in a safe, compliant, efficient and sustainable condition to allow production and business supply, managing the total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of all assets.
The role of the Maintenance Manager focuses on both the maintenance & repair function (planned and unplanned) as well as CAPEX projects aiming at improving the current asset base or expansion projects.
In Maintenance & Repair, the Maintenance manager is responsible for the planning, directing, and realizing of all preventative and corrective maintenance and repair, modifications, enhancements to the production facilities, energy facilities and buildings, in order to achieve the required technical and operational readiness and reliability of the facility. Those activities has to be done in an efficient and cost effective manner, enabling the optimal production quality and quantity levels
The Maintenance Manager is a member of the technical / production team for a factory, site, jointly responsible for an optimal production process. The key focus of the Technical Manager is organizing and supervising all maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance on existing facilities, as well as all CAPEX projects on existing equipment / production lines.
As a managerial role, the focus is also on people management: selecting, organizing, training, and motivating the technical staff to ensure the Technical department is capably staffed to deliver the required levels of the production facilities at optimum productivity and cost levels.

Job responsibilities
Asset management:
o Prepares the Asset Management Plan and associated budgets for the mid and long term, taking into account the total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of the assets
o Monitors obsolescence and risk associated to it to take mitigating action plan
Technical Projects:
o Directs the design and development of CAPEX projects, acts as project owner or project manager
o Participates in assigned installation and/or process improvement projects, within the project management guidelines.
Leadership and people management:
o Provides leadership to his / her area in production and M&R (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives
o Manages and coaches a team of professionals, motivates employees through sincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed, stimulate team cooperation and mobility and ensure that managers and staff are deployable (quantitatively and qualitatively) and willing to and capable of realizing the set objectives.
Maintenance management:
o Plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) to rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions.
o Assesses the nature of the maintenance, and study of the drawings and manuals, ensures the availability of necessary materials, parts and tools and ensures the planning of the execution with relevant departments
Troubleshooting:
o Troubleshoots any mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems and in offices and warehouses, through received messages, such that the work in terms of technology and safety can be resumed and any stagnation is limited to a min mum.
o Locates the cause of the disturbance, determines whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assesses the nature and extent of faults and determines whether immediate repair is necessary and possible. If needed ensures immediate (emergency) repairs are executed
Preventive / planned maintenance:
o Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and carries out inspections in the context of preventive and corrective maintenance / overhaul, so that the technical underperforming conditions are timely identified and corrective actions can be taken
o Assesses the state of maintenance and reports of serious findings to the production management; directly repairs (impending) defects if possible
o Ensures the planning and execution of corrective maintenance arising from the inspections, at scheduled times
Continuous improvement:
o Researches, evaluates, and recommends new equipment, tools and processes in maintenance and production in order to enhance the capabilities of production and / or maintenance.
o Monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
o Roll out best practices of Maintenance (TPM, AM, PM, …); has a strong input to the site masterplan process
Compliance:
o Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations.
o Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area (incl. some key procedures linked with
ATEX, Work at height, LOTO and Confined space, Work Permits etc…)
What the company is looking for
- Professional graduated in carreers such as Industrial, Mechanical, Electromechanical Engineer or related.
- Masters degree required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience leading Maintenance / Technical teams in multinational companies.
- English fluency (B2+)
