  • Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, the global and EMEA home of the group’s duty free, air travel and cruises business.

We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.

Your new team

This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.

The role sits within the Strategy arm of the Strategy, Insights & Effectiveness team. The Category strategy team goal is to co-ordinate and manage how CBL drives long and short term growth for scotch and how we best utilise the portfolio of brands to do so.

The role is to enlighten the business on opportunities in the external and internal environment; inspiring the business about what is happening in the market, with competitors and with consumers/culture, to unlock opportunities for the growth of our portfolio. All of this should be underpinned by data & market insights..

Your unique contribution

You will have 4 main areas of responsibility:

1) Opportunity mapping - identifying geographies or segments the portfolio or individual brand can drive profitable growth
 

2) Reporting – animating CBL’s understanding of market dynamics, category & competitor performance.
3) Internal Consultant – Supporting brands in making their strategic choices with data led recommendations and initiatives.
4) Competitor Intelligence - deep diving into competitor performance to help the business understand their strategies

Who you’ll be working with

Internally,  you’ll work with brand, portfolio activation, marketing effectiveness, insights, corporate communications and finance teams

Externally, your contacts will be research agencies and market data providers like IWSR and Nielsen.

Your blend of talent

This position could be right for you if you:

  • Have 3-6 years experience in a data analytics or data planning role.

  • Have experience using large data files and databases, especially sales / retail data (mandatory). Experience with survey, social and search data would be beneficial.

  • Have the ability to translate data into insight into actionable recommendations for the business

  • Are a strategic thinker with good communication, presentation and storytelling skills

  • Have the ability to build effective relationships and networks with key stakeholders to influence decision making.
