Collins Aerospace is hiring a Global Trade (GT) Compliance, Specialist (Hybrid) this individual will support all business functions of our Aerostructures Global Trade Program and will act as Global Trade site lead for the facilities in both Jacksonville, Florida and Foley, Alabama.
  • This position may either be located in Jacksonville, FL or in Foley, AL.
  • Relocation assistance provided.
  • This Hybrid position will require a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in the office and 3 days remotely.

Primary Responsibilities and Preferred Skills:
  • Support Export Licensing (ITAR/EAR), Managing and drafting of export licenses, training, administrative activities
  • Project management and reporting on GT Program Health
  • Perform Export (Commodity, Technology/Technical Data, and Software) and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) Classification determinations under US and non-US regulations
  • Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, export Control Classification, Compliance training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Sanctions and Embargoes
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of U.S. and other customs jurisdictions import/export regulations
  • Knowledge of NAFTA and other free trade agreements qualification, record keeping requirements, valuation, country of origin, reconciliation, etc.
  • Execute key processes such as broker management, post entry audit, valuation, reconciliation, and country of origin compliance
  • Interface with internal/external customers to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and Collins policies and procedures
  • Report customs metrics on management dashboard on monthly and quarterly basis
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned or required by business
  • Interface with internal/external customers to ensure compliance with import/export regulations and Collins policies and procedures
  • SAP/GTS experience a plus
  • Advises internal management or business partners on the implementation or operation of complex compliance programs to ensure business objectives are in compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines
  • Assesses emerging compliance issues with management or employees to identify the potential impact of future laws and regulations on the organization
  • Maintains, analyzes, and reviews applicable trade compliance records in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure legal compliance
  • Establishes and maintains training and audit / assessment programs to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
  • Participate/Lead in GT council meetings
  • Lead and support GT site investigations/audits
  • Conduct audits to assess the export/import compliance and assist in determining and implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Provide guidance to site functional teams regarding visitor management, technology marking, technology transfer methods, international travel, reporting and other administrative requirements for export compliance
  • Continuously evaluate current processes and recommend relevant changes or improvements to increase efficiency/productivity
  • Additional GT activities assigned by a direct or indirect GT manager

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
