Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Transit Engineer to be based in Dallas, Texas.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Obtaining and reviewing of existing information including some field work/site investigations.
• Originating technical calculations that advance the design of the project.
• Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Assisting in the design of roadway, transit, traffic, drainage, utilities, and signing and pavement marking plans.
• Design, technical calculations, and estimating using CAD software.
• Developing 3D models using civil design software.
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports and project specifications.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Passed the EIT exam.
• Experience in Technical writing.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, InRoads, OpenRaods, or OpenRail.
• Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, including ArcMap and ArcGIS Online.
• Previous work experience or internship with engineering firms, contractors, or DOTs involved in design, construction, or management of highway or other transportation-related projects.
• Familiarity with local design standards.

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• We are interested in every qualified candidate eligible to work in the United States. Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States.
• Offered rate of compensation (Texas locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $55,029 - $96,302.
