Schneider Electric Czech Republic is opening a great opportunity for a certified Health & Safety and Environmental leader!

What is the scope?

  • Ensure country to comply with applicable safety and environment legislation.
  • Work closely with the safety and environment regional and global and organization network.
  • Ensure that every employee is included in a safety management system and every SE location has systems in place to protect the environment.
  • Create and deploy a safety & environment training plan for the zone management team and safety & environment team in the zone. Ensure each Country has a training plan in place.
  • Play a leading role in investigation of significant accidents in the zone and ensure action plans are managed to prevent re-occurrence of accidents.
  • Monitor safety and environment performance and share with the management team
  • Ensure that a business continuity/pandemic plan and crisis management plan is in place in line with corporate requirements.
  • Propose an annual improvement program taking account of the corporate requirements, accident history, legislative requirements, etc and present plan for review and approval to the management committee. This plan will include S&E training plan.
  • Joins community meetings and calls
  • Supports the Top Management in the HSE Policy and Guidelines issues.
  • Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
  • Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
  • Supports the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
  • Conducts safety audits both internal and external.
  • Takes part in accident / incident investigation.
  • Liaises between Clients on safety related issues.
  • Performs Risk Assessment.
  • Support implementation of SE Global Sustainability strategy (Electrical vehicles, sustainability for real estates, etc.)
  • Support customer projects with the implementation of annual self-assessment and improvement plan
  • Safety Opportunities Management for all Front Office employees: employees training, program promotion, resolving safety opportunities.
  • Internal safety audits of all locations, take part in audits at customer sites for project activities, support actions if needed.
  • Implement Safety & Environmental topics at management meetings and meetings with employees, deploy global quarterly safety campaigns, manage safety alerts (for all Front Scope Employees).
  • Warehouse safety - racks & forklifts safety, safe glasses project.

Who will you report to?
  • You will report directly to country management of Schneider Electric CZ

What qualifications and skills will make you successful for this role?
  • At least highschool degree, preferred technical field
  • Min. 5 years of experience in leading of Health & Safety and Environment agenda in an international company, preferably energy, technological business or production
  • Health & Safety certificate for Czech Rep. required (OZO and ISO 45001) required
  • Fluent English (Strong communicative skills of English used for work - reading, writing & speaking) and Czech is a must
  • MS Office
  • Very good knowledge of local legislation in area of H&S, Environment and fire protection standards in Czech Republic
  • Accessiblity for travelling ocassionaly - for audit/inspection/meetings purposes, driving license B
  • High level of communication and presentation skills
  • Proactive approach with ability to collaborate with corporate stakeholders and local authorities
  • Ability to work independently on daily basis
  • Ability for work in a dynamic, matrix subordinate environment with non-routine projects
