HSS Manager - Remote in Southwest or Western, VA Markets Only

If you reside within a commutable distance of either Southwest/Western, VA markets, you will have the flexibility to work remotely as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Selects, manages, develops, mentors and supports staff in designated department or region
• Develops clear goals and objectives for performance management and effectively communicates expectations, and holds the team accountable for results
• To meet the unique needs of our members, you must have an intimate understanding of the contractual requirements
• Identify, select, structure, and prioritize process improvement projects, ultimately implementing changes to meet program requirements
• Ensures standardized execution of workflow processes, including conducting performance audits, quality reviews, and compliance adherence
• Acts as regional interface with other departments to coordinate workflow processes and implementation plans

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human or Health Services Field
• Registered Nurse or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or LPC with active and unrestricted license in the state of VA or qualifying reciprocal license
• 5+ years of experience working within the community health setting in a health care role
• Management experience
• Experience working in an MCO environment
• Experience coaching or mentoring staff
• Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Word, with the ability to navigate a Windows environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Certified Case Manager (CCM)
• 3+ years of leadership experience
• Experience/exposure with discharge planning
• Experience in utilization review, concurrent review and/or risk management
• Case Management experience
• A background in managed care

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
