Fluidra’s looking for an Import/Export Logistics Specialist to join our team at our West Coast office in Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Import/Export Logistics Specialist will effectively coordinate the import, export, shipping & receiving process to serve our domestic and global customer base through effective communication, documentation processing, and accurate handling of our goods and services.Also work closely with Freight Forwarders and other departments to ensure cost-effective transportation by utilizing company resources and evaluating customer needs, research transportation methods, audit carrier costs, and actual carrier performance routinely. Actively applies ‘best practices’ to improve logistics processes and utilize technology enhancements.

- Monitor shipments and coordinate customs, carriers, and suppliers to ensure timely arrival of goods.
- Review weekly requirements and coordinate with International Transportation stakeholders and/or Freight Forwarders as necessary.
- Assist with all necessary export related documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, shippers’ letter of instruction, and any other document as necessary.
- Adhere to international shipping procedures and minimize compliance risks by collaborating with internal key stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Trade Compliance to obtain the US HTS codes.
- Review export documentation for accuracy and obtain B/L from freight forwarders and maintain international shipping documentation required per the company’s record retention policy.
- Assist and coordinate International & Domestic transportation with overseas sister companies and Distribution centers, as needed.
- Build positive relationships and communicate effectively with suppliers and coworkers.
- Communicate effectively with the other supply chain departments (planning, production, procurement, customer service, Distribution Center).
- Respond to customer inquiries related to import and export activities in a timely manner.
- Manage the claim process for all damaged goods in transit including communication to stakeholders, as needed.
WHAT WE SEEK
- 2+ years working experience in the import/export field, specifically international shipping.
- Knowledge in international trade and Customs regulations, such as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), customs valuation, preferential/ free trade agreements, and rules of Country of Origin, Incoterms is preferred
- Familiar with freight bookings, rail cut dates and processing customs documents
- Proficiency in managing systems and using different technological tools to complete tasks
- Must be good communicator; strong written and verbale English proficiency, can cross-collaborate with multiple departments and carry out changes and updates to team members.
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team with a positive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
- Fluency in English required and Spanish (preferred) – writing, oral and interpersonal communication
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in international business, Logistics, or related field

Expected salary range is $65,000 - $75,000. Fluidra offers a comprehensive total rewards / benefits program that includes base salary, annual bonus based on performance of individual and company objectives, competitive 401K matching, paid vacation and sick time, full range of health benefits, educational assistance, etc. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience and location.
