Information Security Specialist (2545)

SMX is looking for an Information Security Specialist for the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee (PRAC) program.  PRAC is a committee of the Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency.  The PRAC committee is set up to provide information to the public on the COVID relief funding through the website www.pandemicoversight.gov. SMX is the prime contractor on the program to create and maintain the website.  SMX utilizes the cloud environment Microsoft Azure for this program. This role is remote supporting a Washington DC based team.   

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Managing other contractors and leading their security related projects.
• Analyze potential vulnerabilities and threats to the system.
• Assign tasking of potential vulnerabilities to team members
• Apply technical expertise in Information Security to completing tasks.
• Identify and maintain processes to reduce information technology risks.
• Maintain the appropriate standards and controls to manage security technology and implement policies and procedures.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Deep understanding of NIST / FedRamp procedures
• Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
• 3+ years working or consulting directly on customer-facing project engagements.
• Bachelor's Degree required or additional 3 years of relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Support the full project lifecycle around Information Security Tasking to include strategy, design, implementation, and automation, as well as production-readiness and documentation activities
• Provide transparent and regular status updates to SMX Project Management and Client.

Desired Skills/Experience:

•  Ability to produce clean, high-quality technical documentation and deliverables.
•  Strong analytic, organization, presentation, customer service skills.
• Willingness and ability to collaborate across internal practices and with other team members.
• CISSP preferred. 
• Previous hands-on technical experience preferred.
