Interim, PR Director (6-Month Parental Leave Coverage)
Lovevery is a fast-growing digitally native brand co-founded by successful serial entrepreneurs and based in Boise, Idaho. Our customers are parents, and our mission is to help them feel confident they are giving their children meaningful development experiences during the critical early years of life. Taking a science-based approach, Lovevery’s stage-based play essentials for children and multi-channel content for parents have been recognized with awards from TIME, Fast Company, Red Dot, Good Housekeeping, and Forbes.
Lovevery is looking for a thoughtful and motivated interim PR leader with impeccable writing and communication skills to oversee media relations and PR strategy while Lovevery’s PR Director takes maternity leave. In this role, you will be hands-on in crafting and executing PR strategy, as well as corporate and executive communications initiatives.
You are skilled at communicating with members of the media and at securing brand-elevating, high impact media placements. You are comfortable communicating with company executives, leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders, and can juggle priorities across time-sensitive and delicate public-facing matters.Â
This role will report to the Global PR Manager.
Role Coverage: Director of PR
Hours: 40 hrs/week, paid hourly (plus additional hours, as required, to complete tasks)
Duration: Mid May - Early November (Approx. 6 months; maternity leave coverage with overlap at beginning and end for on and offboarding)
Start Date: May 13th, 2024
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute PR strategies and contribute to media-facing messaging around key launches, company initiatives, and H2 2024 PR plan.
- Craft and distribute press releases for all relevant US PR moments.
- Media Relations:
- Update media list and maintain relationships through always-on engagementÂ
- Press inbox management: address inbound media inquiries, determine priorities, and share images and messaging as needed
- Seeding & Product Sends: engage media with thoughtful gifting and identify new parents as media targets
- Pitch The Play Kits for continued press coverage
- Corporate & Executive Communications
- Drive thought leaderships opportunities for Cofounders, including editorial placements, speaking engagements, awards, and media Q&As
- Draft LinkedIn posts for Cofounders around key launches and company announcements
- Create executive briefings for all Cofounder media opportunities
- Draft Media Q&As and spokesperson quotes
- Contribute to op-ed themesÂ
- Staff Cofounder media interviews & speaking appearances
- Awards: Draft and submit company, executive, and brand awards
- Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to management and key stakeholders as it relates to media relations, customer-facing communication, and Lovevery’s reputation
- Reporting / Tracking
- Monitor press coverage (using media monitoring software) and share company-wide in Slack
- Track and report KPIs weekly
- Share quarterly press recaps to Cofounders
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BS with minimum of 7-10 years of experience in PR roles for lifestyle or consumer brands (preferably DTC or in-house)
- Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, comfortable working with executive teams, leadership, and investors.
- Confident in making recommendations and acting as a strategic advisor / thought partner to management and key stakeholders as it relates to media relations and Lovevery’s reputation.
- Strong media relationships with a proven track record of securing high-impact media across consumer, lifestyle and business verticals.Â
- Thoughtful, strategic, and results-oriented pitcher that is able to effectively measure and communicate impact.
- Detail-oriented with excellent project and time management skills and a thorough understanding of PR strategy rollout timeline (from planning stage to asset creation)
- Ability to manage deadlines, think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently on projects from start to finish, while also being an excellent collaborator.
- Professional and/or personal knowledge of the early childhood or parenting space is a plus.
