The Opportunity

DAT is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to join our dynamic team. As a participant in our 2023 Paid Summer Internship, you will have the opportunity to fully integrate with our team to directly contribute to ongoing business initiatives. In contributing to the company’s objectives, you will learn skills essential to transitioning into the workforce and building your career. Our ideal candidate is eager to learn, excited to work on real-world business challenges, and will want to be part of a fast-paced company. This will be a full-time, 12-week, internship during the summer of 2023. This position is located in Denver, Colorado, and consists of a hybrid work environment.

Job Duties

• Assist in monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts to identify potential security threats or incidents
• Assist with vulnerability assessments, analysis, and reporting results to applicable stakeholders
• Participate in the development and maintenance of security documentation and policies
• Support cybersecurity-related projects and initiatives as assigned by the supervisor or lead team members
• Attend meetings with other departments to discuss security-related matters
• Assist in training and awareness activities to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices
• Provide support for the overall governance and management of the company’s risk and compliance programs
• Conduct research on the latest cyber threats, security technologies, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards

A successful candidate will…

• Possess a basic understanding of an Information Security and Governance, Risk & Compliance program
• Show an aptitude for identifying issues and developing effective solutions
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members and stakeholders
• Possess strong attention to detail and be able to ensure all work is accurate and of high quality
• Be proactive and take the initiative on assigned tasks while managing priorities effectively to meet deadlines
• Currently in the process of obtaining a degree or certificate in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or an industry-related field.

The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
