Zions Bancorporation has an opportunity for an intern to join our Corporate Accounting - SEC Reporting and Accounting Policy department to work alongside our Corporate Assistant Controller.

The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience to:

• Prepare financial statements and reports as required by the company, its external auditors, the Federal Reserve, SEC, or other regulatory authorities.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
• Analyze peer disclosures and make recommendations to improve the Company's current disclosures.
• Research US GAAP, understand complex accounting issues, and document detailed responses to technical questions.
• Implement new accounting guidance and other changes that impact accounting.
• Ensure proper documentation of all accounting related matters and application of related controls.
• Other projects and duties as needed.

Qualifications:

• Currently working towards a Bachelor's or Master's in accounting, finance or a related degree and some experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets, balance sheets, income statements, etc. or other directly related experience.
• Basic knowledge of accounting practices, principles, applications, process, procedures, and analysis methods.
• Knowledge of financial analysis, budgets, balance sheets, income statements and GL's.
• Strong Excel, Word, and Power Point skills.
• Ability to balance financial information.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good organizational, problem resolution and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good client relationship and communication skills.
• Ability to be a team player and work in a group atmosphere.
